Tea History

Korea began cultivating tea in 828 CE, using green tea plants imported from China for medicinal, ceremonial, and spiritual purposes. The political suppression of Buddhism, along with the Japanese invasion of Korea in the 1500s, nearly wiped out centuries of Korean tea culture. A renewed interest in the 1960s led to revitalization of tea fields and a revival of traditional tea ceremonies passed down to modern tea masters.

Tea Notes

This green tea is plucked during the first flush, which yields the purest and freshest cup of tea. The finely twisted leaves give a crisp woodsy fragrance and infuse a marine quality with vegetal notes and citrus undertones. With a robust body and fresh spring taste, this savory green re-steeps well with a rich depth of flavors to explore.
